- You can use the "Every Day" templates for journal writing, Writing Process pieces, friendly letters, book reports, and much more. QUICK TIP: Create writing journals for your scholars by choosing your favorite template, make a stapled packet of 30 double-sided copies, add a cute cover, and you're done! Writing is a huge focus in my classroom so my students use their journal daily as they work on a journal prompt first thing in the morning, write a story during Literacy Workshop, or even reflect on what they learned at the end of the day.
- I use the "Monthly" paper at the end of each month. For example, at the end of the month, as a class, we fill out a "Thinking Map" and categorize all of the things we learned. Then, students take that information and write about it on the "Monthly" paper. I add their writing to his or her Memory Binder that hangs up on the wall. It looks great, my Principal loves it because he can read about what we're learning about, and it's a great way for students to reflect on his or her learning.
